Antique English cast-iron fountain by "Handyside" with a central foliate spout over a wide bowl supported by a group of two putti holding up a cornucopia on a rock-work base. Andrew Handyside owned and ran the Britannia ironworks, near derby, from 1848 to 1887 where he created wonderful fountains and urns. An engraving illustrating this fountain is in Handyside's ironwork catalogue of 1874. The fountain has been fully restored to its original working order. Circa 1875.
